A Very Fond Farewell From the Editor
Meriden Patch readers will have a new editor after today.
Dear readers,
I hope you are enjoying this fine spring Friday. I wanted to let you know that after a year and a half, today is my last day as the editor of Meriden Patch.
I have taken a position with the Record-Journal newspaper covering Wallingford's City Hall, and will start there in mid-April. I'm looking forward to this new opportunity, excited to work closely with the talented editors and reporters at Meriden's 145-year-old newspaper and to be able to focus on this specific beat.
That said, I'm certainly sad to be leaving my post here at Meriden Patch/AOL. It has been a true pleasure to serve you for the last year and a half. It started out as quite a daunting task in September of 2010, forming a new online newspaper in a town to which I'd just relocated. But your kindness and interest in Patch made my work truly a delight. I will also certainly miss my great editors and colleagues at Patch and wish them success.

Eileen McNamara, a Patch Associate Regional Editor, will be taking over Meriden Patch for now. She is a real pro and a great woman all around. Her e-mail is eileen.mcnamara@patch.com. The wonderful Cathy Torrisi, who has been writing education articles for Patch since we started will continue to cover education and likely other items.
Though I'll be covering Wallingford, I still live with my husband in Meriden and hope to see you around!
Sincerely,
