Maloney and Platt Top 10 Graduates--An EXCEL-lent Bunch

Project Excel recently honored the top 10 students in the Class of 2012 at Maloney and Platt high schools.

Project Excel, an organization whose goal is to encourage academic excellence in the Meriden Public Schools, each year holds a Scholars' Banquet to publicly honor the top 10 graduates of Maloney and Platt high schools. This year's banquet took place at the Aqua Turf in Southington. The following students were feted.

MALONEY HIGH SCHOOL TOP 10

Jamie Erdman, daugher of David and Patricia Erdman, plans to major in Psychology/Pre-Law at the University of Connecticut.

Nicholas Mann, son of Sally and David Mann, plans to study Communications--Film, Video and Interactive MediA--at Quinnipiac University.

Sarah Gardinier, daughter of Dianne and Timothy Gardinier, plans to study Biochemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Alexandra Sabith, daughter of James and Pamela Sabith, plans to study Chemistry or Marketing at Western Connecticut State University.

Catherine Collins, daughter of Robin Collins, will study at Wheaton College. She hasn't chosen a major yet.

Alyssa Proctor, daughter of Scott and Lisa Proctor, will study nursing at Fitchburg State University.

Joshua Russo, son of Debra and Nicholas Russo, plans to study Secondary Education at Central Connecticut State University. He hopes to become a high school biology teacher.

Edward Gaughran, son of Sue and Mike Gaughran, plans to study Education at Central Connecticut State University. He wants to be a math teacher.

James Wronski, son of Tom and Rebecca Wronski, will study Architecture at Catholic University of America.

Ivan Lukic, son of Boris and Sanela Lukic, will study Biology at the College of the Holy Cross. He wants to become an oncologist.

 

PLATT HIGH SCHOOL TOP 10

Ruchi Sheth, daughter of Bimal and Parul Sheth, plans to study Chemistry/Pre-Med at Wesleyan University.

Emily Schmidt, daughter of John and Jodie Schmidt, plans to study Chemistry/Pre-Med at Boston University.

Peter Piech, son of Martin and Alisa Piech, will study Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Jillian Pascale, daughter of Mike and Erin Pascale, will attend the University of Connecticut. She hasn't chosen a major yet.

Jacob Zagorski, son of Robert and Polly Zagorski, will study Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Louise Carrozza, daughter of John and Jo-Ann Carrozza, will study Music Education/Vocal Performance at Western Connecticut State University.

Envy Stone, daughter of Melissa Zagula and Daniel Stone, will study Nursing at St. Joseph College.

Amy Brazauski, daughter of Philip and Debbie Brazauski, will study English and Secondary Education at Quinnipiac University.

Evan James, son of David and Jane James, plans to study Writing and Human Ecology at College of the Atlantic.

Nicole Carbone, daughter of Patrick and Gayle Carbone, will study Business at Bentley University.
