Upon arrival, officers found Anthony Lyons, 44, with a serious stab wound to his leg. He was immediately transported Midstate Medical Center where he was stabilized and brought into surgery. According to staff at the Midstate Medical Center, Lyons has been treated and was released on Sunday, June 17th.

Cornell initially fled from the scene, but later turned herself in after speaking with a detective on the phone. She was subsequently interviewed and cooperated with the investigation.

Several items of evidence were recovered from the scene of the stabbing, including some clothing. The vehicle occupied by Lyons was impounded, as well.

Cornell also was previously charged with second-degree breach of peace and two counts of failure to appear in court, stemming from an April incident.

Meriden officers from the patrol division, along with detectives from the Major Crime Unit and Criminal I.D. & Evidence Unit, coordinated on this case.
