Teenager Dead Following a Double-Stabbing in Meriden, Police Say

Police say another teen was seriously wounded after the stabbing on Kensington Avenue near the campus of Midstate Medical Center.

One teenager is dead and another remains hospitalized following a double-stabbing in Meriden on Kensington Avenue Friday evening.

Meriden police received a 911 call from an anonymous female at 9:31 p.m. who reported that there were two male victims who had been stabbed in the area alongside the property of Midstate Medical Center, according to a news release..

A Meriden officer who was at the hospital, as well as members of the Midstate Medical staff, responded to Kensington Avenue to assist.

Both of the teens were taken to the hospital to be treated for stabbing wounds. Police said they were both found near eachother, police said.

One of the teens died as a result of the stabbing, police said. The second teen was transported via a LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital, although police did not have a update on his condition as of Friday evening.

Police have yet to release the names or the ages of the teenagers, as the families are still be notified.

At this time the identity of the suspect(s) responsible for the stabbings is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
