Meriden took a direct hit from the Blizzard of 2013, with an estimated 30 inches of snow being dropped on the town in less than 24 hours.

Still, as of Saturday evening many were complaining that their streets still were not plowed, and fretting about what would happen if emergency vehicles needed to access their street.

Plows are out there all over town. In fact, the city says 24 trucks will work throughout the night to continue plowing but there have also been reports of plows and trucks getting stuck in the deep snow as they attempt to plow many streets.

"It might be noon time Sunday before all of the streets are passable, but not perfect, and this is assuming we run in to no problems. We again ask all residents to be patient and stay off the roads so the plows can get their work done," a message on the city's Facebook page said.
