The Kindergarten class at St. Stanislaus School celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday by cooking homemade apple sauce and wearing pots on their head, just like Johnny Appleseed. The class chose cooking as the special project for September. In addition to celebrating Johnny Appleseed, the reading series in class taught the students about a charater named Cass, who was a cook. She talked a lot about cooking in the stories, while teaching the students about the sound that C makes.
