Students in grades 1 through 8 at St. Stanislaus School received certificates this month for their participation in the Governor’s 2012 Summer Reading Challenge. Principal Patricia Hess presented certificates to 70 students on September 27.
Students in grades 1-5 read a total of 662 books, while middle-school students in grades 6-8 read a combined total of 31,269 pages.
The Summer Reading Challenge stresses the importance of reading while helping to enhance every student’s reading skills. St. Stan’s students also completed additional summer reading assignments prepared by their respective teachers.
