The Start with a Half Cup Committee is working to encourage children to eat more vegetables by implementing the Ellie Project in several school districts across the state.
The Ellie project came to Nathan Hale Elementary School in Meriden on Friday, March 28th to educate the students on the importance of eating vegetables with fun hands-on activities, including a “wow” card contest, and a story time presentation about a puppy named Ellie that eats all of her vegetables. The class that wins the contest will receive a platter of carved veggies and a special visit from Ellie, the stuffed dog!
