Meriden Hair Cuttery Supports Local Women in Domestic Violence Shelters

Giving back to a woman in need this spring can be as simple as getting a haircut in time for Mother’s Day.  Hair Cuttery is honored to team up with The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), the leading voice for domestic violence victims and their advocates, for its spring Share-A-Haircut program.  On May 5th – 6th, every time an adult receives a haircut at any of the Hair Cuttery salons in New England, including the salon in Meriden, a haircut will be donated, through NNEDV, to a woman living in a domestic violence shelter in the local community.

In its 15th year, Share-A-Haircut has benefited three-quarters of a million people.  Originally, the program benefited children in need, but it has grown to help people of all ages.  Earlier this year, 50,000 free haircut certificates, valued at $900,000, were donated to men, women and children across the U.S. in homeless situations.  This May, Hair Cuttery intends to continue its high volume of giving, with a goal of reaching more than 25,000 women in local communities, and through the program, help inspire a fresh outlook.
