Enjoy Some Pancakes and Support Meriden Police Explorers

Explorer Post 911 will host their annual pancake breakfast at the Elks Club in Meriden on Sunday. Help them raise funds and enjoy some good food and community fun.

It’s pancake time again – and your breakfast could help Meriden youth in achieving their dream of building a career in law enforcement.

The Meriden Police Explorers, Post 911, will host their annual breakfast on Sunday from 8 a.m. to Noon at the Elks Club, 120 E. Main St. in Meriden. The breakfast is open to the public and includes pancakes, sausage, bacon and more.

“Over the past several years the Explorer Post has increased the group to about 30 youths. The donations we receive are used for our yearly operational costs, membership to the Boy Scout of America (BSA) and Northeast Regional Law Enforcement Educational Association (NERLEEA) as well as functions such as Stations Day and the upcoming Cadet Academy,” said Meriden Officer Michael Hadvab, advisor to the post.

“We are also looking for vehicle that we can transport the Explorer Post to events in and out of the Meriden area,” he said. “The explorers are excited to help out at any event given to them as long as it doesn't interfere with school or family functions.”

Tickets are $10 per person and children 5 and under are free. The breakfast will be served by members of the post and also provides a valuable chance for the local teenagers to give back to the community.
