Meriden Transfer Station To Open Longer This November For Leaf Drop-Off

The extra hours will last throughout the month of November.

A press release from the Town of Meriden:

The Meriden Transfer Station, which is located on Evansville Ave, will have additional hours for the drop-off of leaves and brush only during the month of November.

The additional hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Transfer Station will also be open on Saturday, Nov. 9, Saturday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to noon for the drop-off of leaves and brush only. These hours are in addition to the normal hours of Monday, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the first and third Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to Noon.  

The curbside collection of leaves is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Nov. 12 and will continue until Friday, Dec. 20, unless significant snow occurs before this date.  Please note that leaves are to be in biodegradable bags and no plastic tape to close bags. Plastic or other non-biodegradable containers will not be accepted.
