Photo Op: Meriden Rep. Abercrombie Named Family Legislator of the Year

Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies recognizes Meriden Rep. for her commitment to children and families in Conn.

The Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies has named Meriden State Representative Cathy Abercrombie (D) its 2012 Family Legislator of the Year. 

The council – which represents 16 nonprofit agencies in the state including Meriden's Catholic Charities branch – has recognized one Connecticut legislator a year for the past 24 years for their commitment to children and families in the state, the council said in a release.

“Representative Abercrombie has consistently worked to strengthen Connecticut families throughout the state and at the local level.  She has tirelessly championed programs and initiatives that have benefited parents and youth and is widely recognized as a true advocate for Connecticut’s families," said Daniel J O’Connell, Ed.D., President & CEO of the Council in a statement. "We recognize her efforts to help our member agencies meet their mission of strengthening Connecticut’s families.”
