Science Plays Role in Meriden Library's Summer Reading Programs

Science plays a role in the Meriden Library's Summer Reading Programs, "Fizz, Boom, Read!"  The nationwide theme was chosen by the Collaborative Summer Library Program. It combines reading with science experiments to help bridge the learning gap for students during summer vacation.

At the Tomie dePaola Children’s Library in Meriden, children are invited to read books, have fun and win prizes in their Summer Reading Program. Kids in grades K-5th grade can log books online and then visit the library to receive prizes for reaching their reading goals.

There will also be free family programs each week on Monday evenings and Friday mornings, including magic shows, musical performances and live animals. Click here for the schedule. Tickets for these programs are available at the Children’s Information Desk.
