When Will Discarded Christmas Trees Be Picked Up In Meriden?

Christmas tree pick-up will last until the end of January.

A press release from the Meriden Public Works Department:

The Meriden Department of Public Works will begin curbside collection of Christmas trees on Monday, January 13, 2014 for residents living east of the railroad tracks.

The eastside collection will last through Friday, January 24. Beginning Tuesday, January 21, the collection will begin for residents living west of the railroad tracks. The westside collection will last through Friday, January 31.

Kindly remove all decorations and lights prior to placing the tree at the curb and
please do not place the tree in a plastic bag. We cannot accept trees in bags since it will create problems with grinding of the tree.

Residents may bring their trees to the Transfer Station located on Evansville Ave during normal business hours. The hours are: Mondays from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Wednesdays from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM and the first and third Saturday from 7:30 AM to Noon.

There is no charge for the disposal of Christmas trees. Trees must be removed from any plastic wrapping.

If you have any question, please contact the Department of Public Works at 203-630-4018.
