For the thousands of viewers who watched the Academy Awards Sunday night, finding Channel 8 on their cable lineup was easy. But that could change beginning Wednesday if a dispute between the ABC affiliate at Cox Communications isn't resolved.
Both companies have posted information about the stand-off which stems from a contract disagreement over programming costs.
WTNH has posted their position on their website about the situation which it calls a "retransmission dispute."
Cox Communications states on its website that the owner of WTNH, LIN TV Corporation, "is demanding a huge increase in programming costs."
Cox provides cable services to Meriden, Cheshire, Southington, Hamden, and other central Connecticut towns.
