Christmas Tree Shops is Coming to Meriden

The national chain has signed a lease for space in the Westfield Mall.

Come September will have a new store, the Christmas Tree Shops. The discount chain has signed a lease for the former Borders bookstore space in the mall, according to the Record Journal and the mall's Facebook posting.

"It's official! Christmas Tree Shops is coming to Westfield Meriden! They are scheduled to open in September, but keep checking our Facebook page for updates as we'll keep you in-the-know on hiring information, opening activities and more! We are THRILLED to be bringing in one of our most requested retailers, and can't wait to hear what you think of the news! Let us know..."

The move follows the opening of a seasonal Christmas Tree Shops Express store last year in Westfield.

It's just about time! Now if some of the "outlets" would follow, Meriden's mall could become another little shopping mecca instead of a "hangout" for kids n thugs.

Borders is a decent spot. I thought they would have taken the old Linens N' Things or Old Navy location before moving into the mall. Either way, its good news!

I am happy that a Christmas Tree Shop will be closer to wallingford than either the Orange or Manchester locations. I hope the Borders facility is large enough to hold all the great things that are offered there. I think the Lowes location in Meriden, off exit 16 would have been better....Once a Christmas Tree shop opens in any shopping center, you would have other retailers knocking down your doors to join the party. either way, I am so happy to hear of its opening after years of rumors..
