Protein Sciences Wins Chamber's Leadership Award

Press release
Protein Sciences Corporation, a company with roots in Meriden dating back almost 30 years, has been named by the Greater Meriden Chamber of Commerce the recipient of the Chamber’s 17th Annual Large Business Leadership Award.

The award is granted to the member business that has exemplified outstanding private sector leadership in the Meriden business community. Protein Sciences has grown rapidly in the past two years, more than doubling its workforce, and celebrated a major success this winter with the FDA approval of its first-in-class influenza vaccine, Flublok®, in January.

Meriden residents were some of the first to have access to Flublok when the Company hosted several local vaccination clinics in February.  “We are honored that the Chamber has chosen to recognize us with their annual award,” commented Manon Cox, President and CEO of Protein Sciences. She added, “The Chamber has consistently been an avid supporter of the Company and we are proud to celebrate our success with them.”

Séan W. Moore, President of the Greater Meriden Chamber of Commerce, said, “The timing of the FDA approval was in complete sync with our Chamber’s decision to recognize Protein Sciences with our 17th Annual Large Business Leadership Award.” He added, “For many years, Protein Sciences has exemplified outstanding leadership in biopharmaceutical research and now continues their great work with Flublok production and manufacturing. Protein Sciences is perfectly positioned on a path of continued growth.”

The award will be presented to Protein Sciences as part of the Chamber’s 117th Annual Meeting and Dinner. The event will take place Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Meriden, CT.
