A Rare Occurrence -- No Dogs at the Shelter
It was a rare situation Wednesday at Meriden Animal Control when there were no dogs in the city's animal shelter.
It was awfully quiet at Meriden Animal Control on Wednesday.
And that's exactly the way they want it.

"MAC has no dogs available! WOOO-HOOOOO!" shelter officials posted on their Facebook page Wednesday afternoon.
They credited Jennifer's Impressions Photography for the empty kennels. The photos she has taken of the dogs have that have been posted on the social networking site, as well as on other sites such as Petfinder.com, have helped get the dogs the exposure critical in finding them new homes, which led to the empty shelter situation.

"Her pictures are helping people see who these dogs really are," they posted, "and she is saving lives with her camera and her dedication!"
While it's not likely to last long, animal control officers were savoring the moment.
"YIPPEEE!!! Happy Wednesday!!" they posted.
