New Study Shows Dangers Near Bus Stops

The data includes statistics from Meriden showing pedestrians are more likely to be hit near a bus stop than anywhere else.

A new study finds that pedestrian fatalities in Connecticut's urban centers are more likely to get hit by vehicles near a bus stop. The study conducted by the Tri-State Transportation Campaign showed that from 2008-2010 in Connecticut nearly 52 percent of pedestrians struck and killed by a vehicle happened within fatalities a quarter mile of a CT Transit bus stop.
