Quinnipiac River Linear Trail Reopens

City's Parks Department has removed the trees that fell across the trail during Hurricane Irene.

The Quinnipiac River Linear Trail officially reopened to the public on Monday – due to storm damage from Hurricane Irene.

According to Joseph Zajac, the Linear Trail Advisory Committee chair, the Parks Department has cleared the many fallen trees that were blocking the path.

The 1.3 mile-long stretch of trail, popular with residents for walking and running, begins at the Red Bridge on Oregon Rd in South Meriden.
