What's Closed for Labor Day

If your town has power, here's what's going dark for the holiday weekend.

So, you got power yet? If not, everything's closed. If you're lucky enough to be back in the land of electricity, here's what's closed for Labor Day, a state and federal holiday:

  • All federal, state and local city and town offices are closed.
  • U.S. financial markets are closed.
  • Banks and credit unions are closed.
  • All postal offices are closed.
  • The state has closed some parks, forests, beaches and campgrounds, but others are open. For full details, visit the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's website.
  • Commuter trains such as Shore Line East and Metro North will run on a holiday/weekend schedule Monday.
  • The DMV is closed until Tuesday.
  • Connecticut Lottery Headquarters in Rocky Hill is closed Monday.
