Winning $60M Powerball Ticket Sold in New Haven County

The Connecticut State Lottery announced Monday that the winning June 23 Powerball Jackpot ticket was sold in New Haven County.

This is a news release from the Connecicut State Lottery:

Conncticut Lottery officials are excited to announce that a Powerball jackpot winning ticket worth $60 million was sold in New Haven County for the Saturday, June 23 drawing.

The winning numbers on June 23 were 1 – 3 – 41 – 44 – 53 and a Powerball of 30.

Nationwide, there were 421,685 winning tickets for the June 23, 2012 Powerball drawing; 7,953 of those winning tickets were sold RIGHT HERE INCONNECTICUT—one of Connecticut’s winning tickets matched all six numbers correctly, resulting in a $60 million windfall for its very lucky winner.

This latest win is the 8th Powerball jackpot won in Connecticut and ranks as the second largest prize won in CT Lottery history. The largest prize previously won in CT was a $254.2 million Powerball jackpot won in November 2011.

The CT Lottery encourages everyone to check their tickets carefully, and to sign the back of their tickets immediately, if they have not already done so, to establish ownership.

Players have 180 days from the date of drawing to claim a winning ticket.  Saturday’s ticket expires on December 20, 2012. 

Overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 31.8. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot prize are 1 in 175,223,510.
