Meriden Out Spells Wally-World

Meriden sweeps SCRABBLE event...

The Literacy Volunteers of Meriden/Wallingford SCRABBLE Challenge saw an overall sweep of the event teams representing Meriden.

The student team took home a first, as did Friends and Family and the Town Team with some impressive scores - made for a third year victory for Meriden. Over 200 players showed their prowess in spelling at this, the Literacy Vols largest fundraiser. Players were treated to sandwiches from the HC Wilcox Food Service class and bid on raffle prizes donated by local businesses and firms.

The packed ballroom at Four Points by Sheraton attests to the popularity of this event which has grown each year of its existence. For more information check www.lvagnh.org.
