Chorale Connecticut Spring Concert "To Love This Earth"

Chorale Connecticut Spring Concert

This spring’s event, “To Love This Earth”, will be an extraordinary first, a world premier for Chorale Connecticut – a commissioning of an original work by a noted New England composer, Gwyneth Walker.  The composition celebrates the natural settings of Henry David Thoreau’s writing in three-parts featuring a baritone soloist.  This work will blend with other pieces in the program:  Randal Thompson’s Frostiana and Emma Lou Diener’s “Set of 3 Emily Dickinson Poems”.  The concert’s instrumental accompaniment includes a string quartet and clarinet solo.  The performance date is May 3, 2014 at 7:30 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, 159 East Main St., Meriden.  Following the concert, a wine and dessert reception will be held at the Augusta Curtis Cultural Center.  $20 Adults; $15 Seniors (65)/Students; Children 12 & under
