Cross-Stitch Workshop Planned For August 12th and 19th at Meriden Grange

Meriden Grange No. 29, 540 Broad Street will sponsor a 
workshop on cross-stitch (plastic art) on August 12th and 19th,
from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on both dates.  Cindy Hupper, a member of Meriden
Grange will run this workshop in our downstairs dining room area.  Cindy
will provide kits for the participants and a fee of $15.00 will cover the kits
and the instruction.  Cindy Hupper’s experience in cross-stitch art includes
winning the first place award from the New England Grange Needlework contest of
2012 which was held at the Big E for her entry.  Persons attending may
pre-register by contacting Meriden Grange at (203) 237-4617 by Thursday, August
8th.


In connection with our upcoming 84th Annual
Meriden Grange Fair, scheduled for September 7th, participants in
this cross-stitch workshop may submit their completed cross-stitch art to
compete at our Fair for a prize.   Entry forms will be available at
the workshop, and is also available on-line at www.meridengrange.org/grangeagfair.asp
for download along with our “84th Meriden Grange  Premium
Book.”  A full listing of all the contests and their categories are listed
in our Fair Premium Book.  Fair Premium Books are also available at
Greenbacker's Country Store-Agway, 744 Murdock Ave, Meriden, CT 06450; also at
supporting businesses in the Meriden area.




We are asking the public to help support the Meriden Grange
Fair by entering in this year's contests.  The following contests will be
open for entry: Assoc. of CT Fairs Contests (Adult & Junior Baking, Apple
Pie, & Quilt), Needlework, Flower Show, Home Bakery, Canned Fruits and
Vegetables, Fruits and Vegetables, Adult and Children Arts and Crafts, and
Photography. Meriden Grange Fair is affiliated with the Association of
Connecticut Fairs.  The Adult and Junior Baking, Apple Pie and Quilt
contest winners, from the Meriden Grange Fair, will have a chance at winning at
the State run-offs scheduled in November.  All contest entries will be
accepted between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM on Friday, September 6th.  Further
