Hallelujah! A Choral Celebration

The holiday season will be kicked off with a November 25 afternoon concert on the grounds of Choate Rosemary Hall. Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and Berlin's White Christmas will be some of the pieces performed by the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra. The symphony is composed of excellent professional musicians from throughout Connecticut and conducted by founder and music diretor, Philip Ventre. They'll be joined by the United Girls Choir of Greater New Haven and soloist, Stephanie Conte.

The United Girls' Choir, was founded in 2000, and is directed by Rebecca Rosenbaum, with chapters in Branford, Cheshire, Clinton, Hamden, Killingworth, Milford, North Haven and Shelton, as well as advanced, regional chamber singers and consort divisions in North Haven, Madison, and Shelton.

Soprano Stephanie Conte has performed on both the operatic and concert stage. In past seasons Miss Conte was heard as Liu in Turandot with the Syracuse Opera, followed by performances with the Dallas Opera as Adina in L'Elisir d'Amore, and earlier as Thebaldo in Don Carlo in an all stellar cast including Paul Plishka, Jerome Hines, Susan Dunn and Tatiana Troiyanus.
