When: October 2, 2011
Where: Irish American Home Society, 132 Commerce Street,Glastonbury, CT (downstairs)
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Schedule of events:
1:00 p.m. Branch meeting and election of officers (open to current members – but you can join on 10/2 and participate in the meeting)
2:00 p.m. Irish Language Demonstration
You’ll hear Irish speakers engage in basic conversation and you can even learn a few useful phrases!
3:00 p.m. Irish Set Dance Demonstration
You’ll witness an Irish set dance demonstration and perhaps you can learn a few steps yourself!
A traditional Irish music seisiún (session) will follow at 4:00 p.m. Come hear area musicians entertain in the lounge area from 4-6 pm. All singers and musicians are welcome!
This is a family-friendly event. There will be pizza and snacks for FREE! Bring the kids! Learn about Comhaltas (association of musicians, dancers, and Irish language and culture).
