Solomon Organization Digs Its Residents Out After Nemo Dumps 30+ Inches of Snow

The Solomon Organization deploys snow removal assistance from its out-of-state properties to help residents in Meriden and West Hartford dig out and get back to normal.

MERIDEN AND WEST HARTFORD, CT, Feb. 14, 2013—Just hours after the Nor’easter dubbed Nemo dumped an epic 30+ inches throughout Connecticut, The
Solomon Organization, owner and operator of 500 apartment homes including
Merritt Station in Meriden and Westgate in West Hartford, had deployed snow
removal assistance from its other out-of-state properties to help residents dig
out and get back to normal.

“Our employees and contractors were at the ready from 3-4 hours away at our Capital District, NY and Summit, NJ operations where thankfully we didn’t get as much snow as was expected,” said Andrew Rosen, Managing Director of the Solomon Organization, LLC. “Regular plows just could not handle the massive amounts of snow, and we’re very appreciative that MDG Contracting in Tinton Falls, NJ and Albany-based D & R Paving, LLC were amenable to being dispatched with heavy-duty equipment that was not accessible locally. They provided a big help to both our residents and the towns in Connecticut that were struggling to get the roads cleared.”

“The crew arrived on Sunday, February 10th and worked very hard to clean up the property after the storm,” said Westgate resident, Martin Samuels.  “They worked tirelessly and did an outstanding job.”

"It’s great to see a building owner take such care of its residents. We are happy to have a strong relationship with The Solomon Organization,” said Daniel Thomas of D&R. “Plus, we were able to secure additional contracts in Connecticut while
we were here and help out other folks in need.”

The Solomon Organization acquired Merritt Station in 2011 and Westgate in 2009 and has spent millions of dollars on interior and exterior renovations including new siding, windows, doors, common hallways and landscaping.  Kitchens and bathrooms in the apartments and townhomes have been gut renovated to accommodate modern lifestyles.
