Meriden Trucker Arrested in Pennsylvania on Homicide Charge

Bensalem Pa., police say the trucker ran a red light, killing a woman.

 

A Meriden trucker is in a Pennsylvania jail after his arrest for vehicular homicide related to a fatal crash that occurred in Trevose on April 21.

 Andrew Ziemba, 32, surrendered Friday to on charges of homicide by vehicle and related offenses. He was arraigned by Judge Joseph Falcone and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $200,000, 10 percent bail.

On April 21 at approximately 1:35 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Street Road and Old Lincoln Highway for a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer. 

The Investigation determined that a truck, operated by Ziemba, struck another vehicle operated by Danielle Felkner and a female passenger.

Felkner was transported for treatment to Aria Health Torresdale Campus, where she later succumbed from the injuries sustained in the crash.

The female passenger sustained minor injuries. She was treated and released.

The investigation also revealed that Ziemba’s truck was traveling eastbound in the right lane of Street Road. The traffic light changed to red and Ziemba never made an effort to slow down and failed to stop at the red light. 

Felkner was traveling north on Old Lincoln Highway attempting to make a left hand turn onto westbound Street Road when her vehicle was struck by the right rear tandem axle of the tractor trailer. 

A crash reconstruction was completed by an accident investigations team and found that the Ziemba failed to stop at for a red light and caused the death of Danielle Felkner.
