Friends Remember Slain Meriden Teen

A Facebook page in honor of Deandre Felton has now garnered over 2,500 follows as police continue the investigation into Felton's death Friday.

Multiple messages, photos and codolences have accumulated on a Facebook page dedicated to Deandre Felton, the 15-year-old Meriden teen who was fatally stabbed just outside Midstate Medical Center last Friday.

Meriden police continue to reportedly investigate the crime that occured on Kensington Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Two teenagers were reportedly stabbed, one of them later identified as Felton.

Felton was rushed to the nearby hospital but died from his injuries, police said. Since his death, the community held a vigil at a city park, and a Facebook page has sprung up in Felton's memory. As of Monday evening, it had 2,556 followers.

The Record Journal newspaper identified the second victim as an eighth grade student from Washington Middle School.

The newspaper also reported that police were talking to a person of interest in the stabbing. A Meriden detective reached for comment Monday evening said he could not confirm this information.
