Highway Car Fire Ties up Morning Traffic in Meriden
West-bound traffic on Interstate 691 in Meriden was delayed Friday morning after a Toyota Yaris caught fire on the road.
Police and fire personnel were called to Interstate 691 West between exit three and four in Meriden at 6:30 a.m. after the right lane was closed due to a car fire.
Traffic was backed up through 9:30 a.m. as state police and firefighters worked to extinguish the fire in a Toyota Yaris in the median. It's unclear if there were any injuries.
