Man Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Meriden Rape

Luis Concepcion raped a woman in Meriden in December of 2011.

A press release from the Meriden Police Department:

In December of 2011, a teenaged female victim was forced into a vacant building on Springdale Avenue and sexually assaulted by an unknown suspect. This occurred as the victim was walking to her bus stop.

Through our investigation and modern forensic science (DNA & CODIS) we developed a suspect. That suspect, Luis Concepcion (registered sex offender), was identified and arrested.

This case proved difficult as there were no known suspects when our Detective Division began this investigation.

In this case it was the hard work and diligent efforts put forth by our Detectives within our Sex Crimes Unit coupled with the aid of modern forensic science which allowed us to not only solve this crime but to make an arrest.

We just learned this week that the suspect, Luis Concepcion, has plead guilty in this case and as a result he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
