Meriden Police Blotter: Drug Cases, Sex Crime and a Spike in Domestic Cases

Police found themselves busy through the first part of the week, reporting multiple arrests including ones in drug cases and an Internet sex crime. Take a look back at the latest arrest logs.

The Meriden Police Department reported the following arrests:

August 5


Mark Meleah, 45, of 2255 W. Orange Grove Road in Tucson, Ariz., was charged with breach of peace, Aug. 5.

Edgardo Colon-Rosa, 23, of 136 Britannia St. in Meriden, was charged with driving under the influence, traveling unreasonable fast, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and creating a public disturbance, Aug. 5.

Ronsanders Yessoh Lhaubouet, no age given, of 1635 N. Colony Road in Meriden, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor, Aug. 5.

John Whipple, no age given, of 103 Johnson Road in Chicopee, Mass., was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, Aug. 5.

August 6

Jason Michael Rivera, 31, of 35 New Hanover Road in Meriden, was charged with possession of narcotics, illegal possession of narcotic near a school zone, possession with the intent to sell and illegal distribution of narcotics, Aug. 6.

Katrelle M. McCarthy, 24, of 291 Center St. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, Aug. 6.

Christine DeLauro, no age given, of 214 Regis Drive in Meriden, was charged with illegal storage of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Aug. 6.

Allison N. Blacha, 19, of 112 Orange St. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Aug. 6.

Gary Nye, 36, of 53 Prospect Ave. in Meriden, was charged with misuse of marker plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to insure motor vehicle and no rear marker plate, Aug. 6.

Stephen Wagner, 50, of 43 Casmier Drive in Meriden, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, Aug. 6.

Jesus Lucero, 21, of 17 Grove St. in Meriden, was charged with enticing a minor, criminal attempt to commit second-degree sexual assault and criminal attempt to commit risk of injury to a minor, Aug. 6.

Luis E. Serrano, 45, of 831 Hanover Road in Meriden, was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, first-degree unlawful restraint and violation of probation, Aug. 6.

Francisco Rey, 65, of 72 E. Main St. in Meriden, was charged with breach of peace and refusal to submit to fingerprinting, Aug. 6.

Michael J. Paradis, 31, of 6 Prescott St. in Meriden, was charged with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of narcotics, Aug. 6.

August 7

Malachi V. Rios, 22, of 169 Bunker Ave. in Meriden, was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, Aug. 7.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Two people were cited with failure to grant right of way.
  • Two people were cited with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
  • Two people were cited with unsafe backing/following too close.
  • Two people were cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • Two people were cited with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
  • One person was cited with failure to display license plates.
  • One person was cited with simple trespassing.
  • One person was cited with public drinking.
  • One person was cited with failure to maintain proper lane.
  • One person was cited with speeding/traveling too fast.
  • One person was cited with making an improper right turn.
  • One person was cited with failure to obey stop sign/traffic signal.
  • One person was cited with failure to insure motor vehicle.
  • One person was cited with failure to have proper tail lamps.
