Meriden Police Blotter: Drug Deal Gone Awry and a Police Chase

One Meriden man is facing charges after attempting to escape police custody after being found in a drug deal and a second has been charged following a mid-May incident in which he took off in a motor vehicle at high speeds to avoid arrest. Take a look back at the latest arrest logs.

The Meriden Police Department reported the following arrests:

May 31

Iliana Hernandez, 31, of 480 S. Colony St. in Meriden, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, May 31.

Brian Molnar, 48, of 108 Lydale Place in Meriden, was charged with reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and driving under the influence, May 31.

June 1

Richard Lespier, 30, of 13 S. Second St. in Meriden, was charged with reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and operating a motor vehicle under suspension, June 1.

Claribeth Bonilla, 30, of 120 Gravel St. in Meriden, was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of plates, operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to insure motor vehicle and reckless driving, June 1.

Edward Creamer III, 50, of 251 W. Main St. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, June 1.

June 2

Deja Durant, 28, of 50 Howe St. in Meriden, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to sell, possession of drugs near a prohibited place and interfering with arrest, June 2.

Jackeno Oliphant, 40, of 278 Broad St. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal mischief and interfering with an emergency call, June 2.

Linda Barron, 44, of 88 Columbia St. in Meriden, was charged with evading responsibility in an accident, June 2.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Eleven (11) people were cited with simple trespassing.
  • Eleven (11) people were cited with creating a public disturbance.
  • Four people were cited with failure to obey stop sign/traffic signal.
  • Four people were cited with public drinking.
  • Three people were cited with possession of alcohol in a public place.
  • Two people were cited with using a cellphone/handheld device while driving.
  • Two people were cited with speeding/traveling too fast.
  • Two people were cited with unsafe movement of a motor vehicle.
  • One person was cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle without proper insurance.
  • One person was cited with failure to have lights illuminated.
  • One person was cited with possession of alcohol by a minor.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
  • One person was cited with littering.
  • One person was cited with allowing a dog to roam without a leash.
