Meriden Police Blotter: Narcotics Sting Nets Several Arrests

The crime suppression unit of the Meriden Police Department this week took to the streets, arresting several including a Hobart Street man detectives said were part of a drug deal in the Twiss Street area. But that's just one of many arrests over the last several days. Take a look back at the latest arrest logs.

The Meriden Police Department reported the following arrests:

May 13


Mary Davis, 50, of 393 Center St. in Meriden, was charged with prostitution, May 13.

May 14

Laurie Golden, 32, of 28 Sherman Ave. in Meriden, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and misuse of plates, May 14.

Randy Ellison Sr., 52, of 29 Garden St. in Meriden, was charged with failure to respond to an infraction and violation of probation, May 14.

Nikauris Dorejo, of 581 Crown St., was charged with misuse of plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to insure motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle under suspension, May 14.

May 15

Shawn Lewonczyk, of 204 Bradley Ave. in Meriden, was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, May 15.

Warren Spears, 29, of 49 Birdsey Ave. in Meriden, was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, May 15.

Luis R. Martell, 29, of 49 Andrews St. in Meriden, was charged with two counts of violation of probation, May 15.

Victor Diaz, 29, of 260 High St. in Naugatuck, was charged with violation of a protective order and interfering with police, May 15.

Matthew J. Anziano, 27, of 297 Reservoir Ave. in Meriden, was charged with reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, May 15.

Jason Leachmon, 26, of 143 Liberty St. in Meriden, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with the intent to sell, conspiracy to commit sale of narcotics and possession near a prohibited place, May 15.

Krystal Espada, 21, of 14 N. Second St. in Meriden, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with the intent to sell, conspiracy to commit sale of narcotics and possession near a prohibited place, May 15.

Ricahrd Cordero, 20, of 225 Grove St. in Meriden, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, May 15.

Shaquille Roman, 19, of 780 Bee St. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, May 15.

David Roldan, 30, of 225 Springdale Ave. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, May 15.

Jose Figueroa, 25, of 283 Hobart St., was charged with interfering with police, reckless endangerment, criminal liability for the acts of another, conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint, conspiracy to distribute narcotics, evading responsibility, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without a license, failure to insure motor vehicle and failure to renew registration, May 15.

Raquel Ruiz, of 123 Angel Dr. in Waterbury, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension, failure to insure motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, stop light violation, possession of narcotics, failure to keep narcotics in original container and possession of a controlled substance, May 15.

May 16

Jose Alvarez-Rivera, of 245 Commonwealth Ave. in Middletown, was charged with disorderly conduct, May 16.

Roberto Candelaria, of 13 S. First St. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct, May 16.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Five people were cited with simple trespassing.
  • Four people were cited with creating a public disturbance.
  • Three people were cited with allowing a dog to create a nuisance.
  • Two people were cited with speeding/traveling too fast.
  • Two people were cited with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
  • Two people were cited with allowing a dog to roam.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
  • One person was cited with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
  • One person was cited with failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
