Meriden Police Blotter: Robbery, Unlawful Assembly Charges and Assaults

It's been a busy week for Meriden police, with officers reporting a slew of arrests that included charges for assault, robbery, stalking, unlawful assembly and more. Take a look back at the latest arrest logs.

The Meriden Police Department reported the following arrests:

July 14


Jamel D. Slade, 19, of 53 N. Second St. in Meriden, was charged with violation of a protective order and third-degree assault, July 14.

Lisa Brown, 31, of 17 Sherman Ave. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, July 14.

Rebecca Smith, 48, of 206 Crown St. in Meriden, was charged with misuse of marker plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and failure to insure motor vehicle, July 14.

July 15


Joshua Gilbert Rosa, 19, of 101 Hobart St. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, first-degree criminal trespassing, unlawful assembly and third-degree stalking, July 15.

Miguel Rivera, 19, of 61 Cedar St. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree breach of peace, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, first-degree criminal trespassing, unlawful assembly and third-degree stalking, July 15.

Jackeno A. Oliphant, 40, of 278 Broad St. in Meriden, was charged with violation of probation, July 15.

Ramon Abreu, 21, of 32 Elliott St. in Meriden, was charged with two counts of failure to respond to an infraction, July 15.

Michael Bennett, 23, of 214 W. Main St. in Meriden, was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear, July 15.

Samuel Smits, 23, of 480 S. Colony St. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct, July 15.

July 16


Daniel S. Cansdale, 41, of 425 Grant St. in Bridgeport, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, July 16.

Gina J. Ayala, 24, of 74 Oak St. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault, July 16.

Angel L. Delgado, 38, of 2090 N. Broad St. in Meriden, was charged with first-degree robbery, fourth-degree larceny and fifth-degree larceny, July 16.

Nathaniel Perez, 22, of 60 Dexter Ave. in Meriden, was charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree robbery, first-degree larceny, two counts of second-degree assault, third-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, July 16.

Guillermo A. Belgrave, 29, of 16 Flatbush Ave. in Hartford, was charged with third-degree larceny, July 16.

Armando Rodriguez, 38, of 89 New Hanover Ave. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct, July 16.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Five people were cited with speeding/traveling unreasonably fast.
  • Four people were cited with failure to obey stop sign/traffic signal.
  • Three people were cited with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
  • Two people were cited with disobeying the signal of an officer.
  • Two people were cited with simple trespassing.
  • Two people were cited with creating a public disturbance.
  • Two people were cited with driving with a suspended license.
  • Two people were cited with using a cell phone while driving.
  • One person was cited with failure to renew registration.
  • One person was cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • One person was cited with failure to have headlights lit at night.
  • One person was cited with improper parking.
