Meriden Police Seeking Leads in Thursday Night Burglary

Police said a man entered the La Amistad bakery and grocery store on East Main Street overnight Thursday into Friday and took an undisclosed amount of cash and other items including the cash register.

An unidentified man is being sought in connection with an overnight burglary after police said video footage shows him removing cash registers and other items from the La Amistad bakery and grocery store on East Main Street.

Meriden police said the man, seen in the photos provided, entered the store at 294 E. Main St. and proceeded to take cash, the cash register and other items. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

The investigation found that the actions were captured on the store’s surveillance cameras, Sgt. Darrin McKay said, and occurred around 11:20 p.m.

The suspect is described as a light skin Hispanic wearing a white t-shirt.
