Police Seek Armed Man who Robbed Walgreens, Stole Oxycontin

Meriden Police say a six-foot-tall man in a baseball cap entered the East Main Street pharmacy and demanded narcotics on Thursday afternoon.

Police are seeking the public's help in apprehending a suspect who robbed the Walgreens on East Main Street in Meriden Thursday.

On Oct. 3 at about 3:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to 825 E. Main St., Walgreens, for a report of a robbery. Employees reported that a white male walked into the store and demanded Oxycontin, according to the report.

The male suspect who was at the pharmacy lifted his shirt revealing a handgun in his waistband. The male was then given an undisclosed amount of Oxycontin. The male then fled the store on foot, police say.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 6’ 0" tall, medium build, and grey hair. The male was wearing a blue baseball hat with a white insignia on the front, a dark colored possibly blue long sleeve shirt, and blue jeans.

There were no reported injuries.
