Meriden Police are searching for a suspect who robbed the East Main Street branch of Wells Fargo Bank Thursday afternoon and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
On Thursday at around 3:58 p.m., Meriden Police were called to Wells Fargo Bank at 820 East Main Street for a bank robbery where a lone suspect had already fled the bank on foot in an unknown direction, according to the report.
The bank teller told detectives that the suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall heavy-set black man between 30 and 40 years of age, handed over a note demanding money.
The suspect, police say, was wearing a bright yellow shirt with a black baseball cap with possibly a red-colored brim and may have had some kind of light facial hair.
No weapon was displayed or seen and no one was injured during the incident. The reports says a canine officer on duty tracked the suspect.
This investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective John Femia of the Meriden Police Department at (203) 630-6250
