Report: Two Charged in Meriden Accidental Shooting

According to WFSB, two men out of a group hanging out in a Maple Branch apartment were charged in the accidental shooting of a man involving a shotgun.

Meriden police have arrested two men in connection with an accidental shooting that happened in a city apartment Wednesday.

According to WFSB, the two men were city residents Jose Rodriguez and Jake Malone. Rodriguez was charged with reckless endangerment and Malone was charged with assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

The incident is still under investigation.

A man was hospitalized following the shooting at 14 Maple Branch Ave. Police said a group of people were playing videogames when the shotgun accidentally went off.

His name and injuries have not been released.
