Shots Fired Behind the Meriden Police Station

Meriden police are investigating a reported shooting which left gun shell casings on the curb but no injuries.

Meriden police are investigating the reported firing of bullets in the vicinity behind the Meriden Police Station.

According to a news release, police responded to Hanover Street around 1:05 a.m. on Thursday where they found several shell casings from a large caliber pistol. The casings were found laying along the shoulder of the roadway.

Meriden police said the shots were heard from inside the police station, as well as by citizens in the area. No injuries were reported. 

A dark-colored, small-to-midsize vehicle was seen speeding from the area. 

The scene was processed and the case is currently under investigation by detectives. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Williams at 203-630-4178.
