Two Dead in Late Night Shooting in Meriden

Police say two men were found with gunshot wounds at the intersection of Crown Street and Olive Street shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

On Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at about 10:10 p.m., Meriden police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Crown St. and Olive St. for the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found two men on the ground with life-threatening injuries. The males were transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. Names of the victims will not be released until notification of family members has concluded. 

At this time, the investigation is in the extreme early stages, and detectives are working through the night to develop leads. The Evidence/I.D. Unit is processing the scene, as well.

 There is currently no suspect information.
