Two Meriden Men In Fatal Chamberlain Highway Crash

Berlin Police released the names of the two men involved in a fatal accident near the Berlin-Meriden line Saturday Night.

Berlin Police released the names Monday of the two drivers whose cars collided on Chamberlain Highway Saturday night near the Berlin-Meriden border, killing one and injuring the other. Both are from Meriden.

Kelvin Luna, 25, was dead at the scene when emergency responders arrived. The operator of the second vehicle, Victor Arenas, 32, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, treated and released, according to Berlin Police Deputy Chief John Klett.

The accident happend at 11:06 p.m. Saturday night, approximately three-tenths of a mile South of Butler Street. The point of impact was in Berlin, according to Klett, but it pushed the cars into Meriden.

The traffic unit is still investigating the accident, according to Klett, and no charges have been filed yet. He said that there was heavy front end damage to the car driven by Arenas, and heavy damage to the right side of the vehicle driven by Luna.
