Vader, Detective Visconti the Latest to Join K-9 Ranks in Meriden

There's a new dog on the streets - and he's looking to help clean things up and keep residents safe.

The Meriden Police K-9 Unit has seen early success as dogs have provided an added hand in finding drugs, tracking missing people and more over the past couple years.

Now the unit is expanding again with the official addition of Vader, who will work alongside Det. David Visconti.

David Buck announced on the Meriden Police K-9 Unit Facebook page that the two have completed training and certification and ready to hit the streets.

"We've had success and we are looking to use the dogs to do more to provide a safe community," said Officer David Buck, unit supervisor and handler of Meriden K-9 Anouke, earlier this month.
