Video Captures MPD Officer Punching Man

Meriden man files police brutality suit and uses surveillance video as evidence.

Surveillance video footage taken at MidState Medical Center in January, 2011, shows Meriden Police Officer Evan Cossette punching a Meriden man in the parking lot, according to several news reports. The video is part of a police brutality lawsuit filed by the man, Joseph Bryans, 31, of Meriden. A police department internal investigation cleared Cossette, the police chief's son, of the charges.
