Viewfinder: Women Protest at Dog Stabbing Trial in Meriden

A group of animal lovers protested in front of Meriden Superior Court Friday during the trial of a Hamden man accused of stabbing his dog 29 times.

A group of women wearing T-shirts and bearing signs calling for justice for a dog named Princess that was stabbed 29 times protested in front of Meriden Superior Court Friday morning.

The Pit Bull mix's owner, Alexander Bernard, 25, of Hamden, was on trial in the court for allegedly stabbing the dog in May.
