State House Speaker , D-Meriden, attended a large rally in Hartford on Wednesday, a rally held on his behalf, and again stressed that he new nothing about the allegations of improper donations to his campaign.
"I'll say it as many times as I can: No one has bought my position, involvement or influence on any legislation. Period," the Hartford Courant quotes Donovan as saying at the rally, which attracted about 200 people.
Donovan, who is the party's endorsed candidate to run for the 5th congressional district this fall, is on the defensive following the more than a week ago of his campaign finance director, Robert Braddock Jr., by the FBI, which charged Braddock with hiding questionable campaign contributions to Donovan.
The Courant today also reports that another co-conspirator has been identified in the FBI investigation into campaign contributions to Donovan.
