Community Survey Underway

Survey calls to residents in Meriden and Wallingford begin tomorrow.

MidState Medical Center and the United Way of Meriden & Wallingford are undertaking a community needs assessment of the towns of Meriden and Wallingford.  The goal of this assessment is to identify needs in the communities, as well as any gaps in community services, so that steps can be taken to address those needs.

Part of the community needs assessment involves getting important feedback from residents of Meriden and Wallingford. To that end, a third-party agency, The Center for Research and Public Policy (CRPP), will be administering a brief 10 to 15 minute telephone survey to a random sample of residents.  Calls to homes are expected to begin on tomorrow and run through Tuesday, November 22.

The survey questions relate to health care access, exercise, heart disease, tobacco use, alcohol consumption and substance use, women’s health, diabetes, and health screenings.  Residents will also be asked about the presence of community services related to transportation, employment, recreation, education, housing, and health care services, and whether there are too many in the community or not enough.

Should residents receive a call from CRPP on behalf of MidState and the United Way, we strongly encourage them to take a few minutes to complete the survey. The responses are entirely confidential, as no names or addresses are collected.
