Gov. Malloy to Visit Meriden on Wednesday

The governor will make a stop at the Women and Families Center to get an update on the progress the education program has achieved since becoming an Alliance Districts.

On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit the Women and Families Center in Meriden for roundtable conversations with administrators and teachers on the progress their respective education programs have achieved since their school districts were approved by the state last year as Alliance Districts.

The education reform package that Governor Malloy signed into law in 2012 created the Alliance District program, which targets the state’s underperforming schools to receive additional Educational Cost Sharing (ECS) aid while developing comprehensive reform strategies to turn the schools around.
