The city is looking for a new Senior Affairs Administrator. Could you be who they are looking for?

The City of Meriden is seeking a dynamic, energetic and innovative Senior Affairs Administrator. This is a professional position responsible for administering and supervising a comprehensive program of social, recreational and educational activities for seniors in Meriden. This includes operation of a senior center, transportation and nutrition services.

Considerable knowledge of the philosophy and principles of the Gerontology. Group dynamics and activities particularly as applied to elderly persons and practices of municipal or public social services administration. Knowledge of programs available to the elderly such as Social Security, Medicare, and the Elderly Care Act.

Bachelor’s degree in social work, gerontology, recreation or a related field and four years of responsible employment in a senior center or a related situation.    Grants writing and management experience desired. Bilingual a plus

Salary range: $68,058.00 to $77,845.
